14 Months

Samuel is 14 months old today! My how time flies when you're having fun! He's such a joy and keeps us on our toes. We laugh every single day at how funny he is...he definitely has a good sense of humor and I'm so thankful for that! His little personality is starting to take shape and he's really finding his voice. Here is what he's up to at 14 months:

  • Sleeps from about 7-7 but can stay up later now with no problem if we need him to.
  • Wears size 4 diaper and size 12-18 month clothes
  • has 16 teeth but I really think another one is already coming in
  • drinks about 20-24 ounces of milk per day. He is on Lactaid milk for the time being due to a nasty virus he had a while back that made him temporarily lactose intolerant. He takes all of his milk in a sippy cup.
  • He eats "ok" these days. He likes most things but is very inconsistent as to when he wants to eat. For some meals, he devours everything on his tray. Others, he touches nothing. Favs this month are grilled cheese, turkey dogs, grapes, strawberries, carrots, mashed potatoes, french toast, pancakes, cereal bars, Nilla wafers, Teddy Grahams, shaved turkey sandwiches, etc. He tried shrimp for the first time this weekend so I'm going to try that more often.
  • Still takes 2 naps per day but starting next Monday, we are going to 1. I know he can do it and I think I need to get him on that schedule before his school starts in September.
  • Loves to play with all of his toys but favorites are his bucket and shovel and his golf clubs. He also loves to play with and throw balls.
  • He still doesn't mind when we say "no" to him getting in the dog bowls.
  • He gets a new bump or bruise every single day and bleeds probably once or twice a week. Guess this is just preparing me for having a boy!
  • Loves to read books before bedtime but is always ready to go to his crib. He always sits up, Indian style after we lay him down. We tell him "night-night" and falls asleep till morning.
  • We are still doing Kindermusik once a week and he loves this! Probably the best thing we have done with him.
  • Says "mama", "dada", "pup pup", "uh oh" and all sorts of other babbling sounds.
  • He loves to take the dog toys to the dogs and put them in their mouths.

That's all I can think of for now! Happy 14 months little man!

Swim Class

We usually do swim class on Friday mornings, but this week we did a make-up class on Saturday morning and daddy got to come and do the class with Samuel. This worked out great because I could take pictures. They are poor quality because I was on the other side of the glass but still so funny. Samuel did great until he saw me and then he just kept smiling and pointing at me after that!
Thank goodness I didn't do the class..it was like "dad's club" in there! Not one mom! Thad said they decided to talk about Lebron James once they found out it was all dads! ha!
Here the teacher is using Samuel as an example of how to go under water...my little fish!
"Motor boat, motor boat, go so slow! Motor boat, motor boat go so fast!"

"Motor boat, motor boat, step on the gas!!"

"The kids in the bus go UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN!" Just a couple of the songs we sing in class.
Samuel sure does love to be in the pool and for this I am thankful. I'm also thankful for the 2 hour nap he takes when we get home!

Got Teeth?

Why Yes!! We do..and 16 of them to be exact. He looks so grown up with a mouth full of pearly whites. A lady at the grocery store asked me if he could eat a Sirloin yet...I think we will just stick with grilled cheese and turkey for now!

Just Pictures!

We've been pretty busy around here lately so this post is mainly just to catch up on some pictures of my cutie! Enjoy!

Chasing the golf ball with Pup Pup in hand..
Enjoying a delicious lunch!

This was taken on our playdate at Jessica and Mason's house in downtown Dallas. It was lots of fun and very chic..I felt a bit too "mommyish" to be hangin' out here!

The back of Samuel...how most of our pictures turn out because I'm always running after him.
