 I am SO behind on blogging that I'm overwhelmed.  I guess moving across country, buying a new house and trying to enjoy the holidays has got me behind.  In an attempt to keep my blog up to date for my own memory, here are are bunch of totally random pictures!

Mom came for a visit in November to help her completely frazzled and unpacked daughter.  Thank the good Lord for her because I still think our second guest bedroom would be floor to ceiling boxes.  Thanks Mom!!

 We finally got our playset put back together and let me tell you...this little boy was stoked!!

Samuel is in full fireman mode these days!  He found one of his Christmas presents in my closet (hmm, wonder who he gets his snooping tendancies from?) and has been wearing them ever since!

 
We've found a church that we love and can't wait to meet more people there and really become connected. This is just a cute pic before church last week.

Samuel has found the perfect spot to watch TV..and go to the bathroom.  Ahh, let me just say this.  Ready.for.him.to.potty.train.

We had a great, and very non-traditional Thanksgiving this year. We decided to stay at home because we are headed to AR for Christmas in the middle of December. It was such a fun, relaxing day! We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast, stayed in our pj's until 11, went to the park and then went for a great dinner in DC! I was so worried that I would get super sad at dinner and that we would be the only people eating out. Thank goodness I was completely wrong! DC was bustling with people and Christmas trees and excitement! It made for such a fun night and a wonderful memory!

At the park playing in a gorgeous, Thanksgiving Day. I will say I got a little sad when I saw lots of families at the park playing touch football and running around. But all in all, we had a great time.

I'm thankful for SO much in my life. I'm so thankful that this move went well, that I've met so many wonderful people, that we've found a great church, and that Samuel seems to be adjusting well. God's hand was in every part of this move and to him I give thanks. I'm so thankful for my husband and son, and for our families that we love so much. I'm thankful that I have a Savior that gave his life for me and loves me no matter what, even when on most days I don't deserve it. Life is good and I feel so happy and content. For this I'm also thankful!

Well, we have now been in our new home for about a month and a half now and are really starting to feel settled. My before/after pics will come slowly as I make every room like I want it. The house is a center hall colonial with 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms. It is quite a change drone our house in Dallas but I actually think I love it even more! It has such character and history and is just so cozy! We stained all of the existing hardwoods to a dark chestnut and added hardwoods in the family room and kitchen. We also completely gutted a bathroom and love the finished product! We added window treatments to every window in the house as well:) Our neighborhood might be my favorite part though. We hear the sound of children playing and neighbors talking all of the time. Samuel's elementary school is a 5 minute walk and was actually number 1 in the state last year. The public schools here are AMAZING! Thank goodness! We are loving the weather but we know that winter is just around the corner...and I'm scared. On a happy note, we hear that the hill in front of our house is the sledding hill of the neighborhood. Should be fun! Here are a few before/after pics!

After. This room was gutted a the way to the studs. Nothing remains from the old bathroom. Hard to tell but the tub is a 6 foot soaking tub. We had to use drapes as a shower curtain because the area was so large. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

Cox Farms 2011

On Sunday, we went to Cox Farms.  It seems this place started out as just a pumpkin patch but has evolved into a little wonderland for kids.  It was amazing!  They had hayrides, giant slides, rope swings, cider, pumpkin pie and lots more!

The pumpkins! Everyone got a pumpkin on the way out..included in the admission fee!

 On the way out, we all got a pumpkin and of course walked through the Cox Farms store.  We came home with all of this..
