All Hallows' Eve

Well, the wonderful time of year rolled around again!  Halloween! I happen to LOVE this holiday and all that goes with it.  I love Halloween decor, jack-o-lanterns, cobwebs, pumpkins on the front porch, dark early evenings and of course the costumes.  Samuel has been waiting on Halloween since November 1, 2011.  He was telling us that morning what he wanted to be "next year" and could hardly wait.  Of course, the ideas have changed a lot and probably on a monthly basis but that's ok!  He has, however, been saying for about 6 months that he wants to be a trashman for Halloween.  I thought, great! How hard could that be? After searching a bit, I quickly learned that piecing a costume together would cost more than I wanted to spend.  So, what does every mother of the year do? I go and purchase a spiderman and call it a day!  Fast forward a few days later after much coercion to be said spiderman, and Samuel is still telling everyone he will be a trashman.  Enter daddy to the rescue!! Thad got an idea to build a garbage truck and let Samuel wear it.  As I listened, I laughed inside at how funny this would be to observe.  I then spurt out something like "ok, this is your deal! You make the whole thing, I'm just going to watch."  Well, let me just say now.  I'm eating my words.  Samuel had the most amazing costume ever, and was the envy of all of the little boys.  Go daddy!! Finally, pictures....

We had friends over before the neighborhood bonfire and trick or treating.  We had the traditional taco soup and fritos for the adults, pizza for the kiddos and lots of candy to kick off the night.

Such a fun night! Samuel woke up this morning asking when he could trick or treat again.  Success!
