Samuel is Two!

I can't believe Samuel is TWO!!! He's so big now.  We've been so busy since Thursday that I haven't even had time to post.  Nana and Papa came to visit us and decided to bring some of Thad's old toys.  This fire truck is one of them and Samuel loves it!  They also brought the Tonka Bus/Winnebago which I didn't get a picture of but it is so precious.
Samuel is up to so much right now that I don't think I can put it all but here are some things just so I remember:
  • He's wearing 2T in everything and size 5 diaper
  • He says so many words and even says some sentences.  My favorites are "mommy, are you?", "bad dogs", "zip it dogs", "Cibaciba" which is his word for paci, "atch woody buzz?", "I you" for I love you, "snacks in bowl", "biper in twash" for diaper in trash, "titchoos" for when he wants to look at pictures on my phone, "fire saaaa" when he wants to watch Fireman Sam, and so much more.  He can point to almost every picture in his 100 word book and say what it is.  It may not be completely perfect but we know what he means.
  • He's nowhere close to potty training
  • As of today, he only gets his paci and nap and bedtime
  • He loves his friends SO much and always says their names followed by their parents names
  •  His favorite things are trucks of any kind and all things boy
  • He is so funny and makes faces and laughs at himself
  • When we pray at night, he ALWAYS prays for his grandparents and bows his head and tries to close his eyes
  • His favorite movies are Finding Nemo, Monsters INC, Toy Story 1, 2 and 3, and Ratatoullie.  His favorite shows are Fireman Sam and Caillou
  • He now says "thank you" without being prompted and is getting better with saying "pweeeese."
  • He loves to jump, climb on anything and dance his little heart out

Samuel's birthday present...and new Play scape.

Time to open presents from Nana and Papa!!

His new sprinkler

So exciting, his first Trampoline!

Samuel's favorite way to swing..

On Saturday, we had his party.  It was a fire truck theme because he's all about "Firetwucks!" Here is the cake table minus the fire truck cake I made him.  I have the pictures of it on my phone but you will see one a little bit later.

All of the food minus the burgers and hot dogs

the Fireman hats hanging for all of the kids

Bounce house and play scape
We totally lucked out with the weather on Saturday.  The high was in the low 70's and there wasn't a cloud in the sky!
The sign my friend Lindsey made!

The table for the toddlers

The cake!!

On Sunday after church, Samuel and Thad decided to have snack time in the "clubhouse."  It was just too cute!  I see lots of lunches and snacks up here in the future!

We had so much fun with our TWO year old this weekend.  The party was SO much fun and everyone including the adults had a great time.  I'm so thankful that Samuel is so healthy and happy and we just love him to pieces.  I'm praying this next year goes by a little slower ..not quite ready for him to be SO big!!

Mother's Day 2011

What a great Mother's Day!  First of all, I need to start off by saying Happy Mother's Day to not only my best friend, but my sweet mom.  She's definitely the most under appreciated, humble, caring, loving person I've ever known and I'm so happy to call her "mom."

Our Sunday started off great around here.  As soon as little Samuel made his first peep right on time at 6:15 am, Thad turned off the monitor and hopped out of bed to go get him.  When I woke up at 7:30, Einstein's breakfast bagel and large coffee were waiting on me.  So awesome!  I don't eat the breakfast sandwich too often, so I savored every single bite.  We then had a great day at church and came home and let Samuel nap...for 3 hours!  I went to see Something Borrowed with two of my girlfriends and it was really good.  Pretty much just like the book, which I read 3 years ago.  I'm looking forward to Something Blue coming out now:))

After Samuel woke up, we decided to break out the sprinkler.  We don't have much in our giant back yard to play with so the sprinkler was perfect.  Next Thursday night, Samuel will have a brand new play set to climb on, swing and slide down.  We are SO excited to finally have one.  After a lot of research, we finally picked one!
Not only does Samuel love the water, but our little Maltese, Mac, loves it also!

There is pretty much nothing sweeter than a baby in just a diaper..love!

It was then time for dinner on the patio followed by a Popsicle!  Samuel actually ate all of his dinner...which is pretty rare for him.

Sweet, sweaty, almost 2 year old!
It was then time to put on our new beach towell robe!  He loved it...kind of looks like a boxer.

time for a cooldown...
And last, the only picture I could get with my little boy today..
One of these days he will look at the camera..till then...this is what we get!

How can it be....

That this sweet, sweet 3 day old

Now looks like this??

I can't believe that we are less than 1 week away from my little boy's 2nd birthday!  I'm getting a little sad.  But, I will be doing a post every day until the 12th just to talk about this precious little thing.

He's been such a toot lately.  I'm sure it just the terrible two's but oh my goodness..he's WILD!!!  But we are just SO, SO in love and can't imagine our lives without him.  I will never forget the first time I took him out of the house by myself and he was screaming his head off..which was typical behavior at that point.  An older woman came up to me and said "I bet you can't imagine life without him" and I promptly told her that "yes, I can remember" and raced out of the store so fast and cried the whole way home.  Man..talk about hormones!  I completely get it now, though.  He is truly the light of our lives and such a huge, huge blessing.
